Poster Prints

This October is going to be a push to get the rickgustafsonphotography.com web-site going.  Also this month I’m featuring Poster Prints which are offered at a lower price point and can hung on the wall for an additional $ 30.00.  I have developed a hanger that attaches to the back of the poster prints using Velcro.

Sausalito Art Festival Inspiration

Following the good advice of my SBDC counselor Victoria Ryan, I attended the Sausalito Art Festival this Labor Day weekend. It was an inspirational and learning experience. It was great to see the work of landscape blur photographer Eddie Soloway. Eddie had a double booth, as well as Victoria, which allowed for good exposure and viewing space for the larger pieces. As a photographer, the highlight of the festival was to purchase an autographed copy of Fred Lyon’s book ‘San Francisco Then’. While there was a break between Fred's book signings I had the pleasure of chatting with Fred. Fred’s black and white images from the 40s and 50s inspired me to move forward on my new collection of monochromatic images. This Death Valley image is one several images I have in a new portfolio titled Monochromatic Moments.

Outdoor Dog Portraits

Outdoor Dog Portraits. Having been asked for a second year by Humdog to take pictures of the CPE Dog Agility trials, I also get asked take portraits.

Using a Canon 5D Mark II set at 800 ISO with a 70-200 Canon image stabilizing lens, even on overcast days I can get great images as portraits.  This is a pan shot of Lizzie at an agility trial in August.
